Older Merewether homes are worth doing properly
The housing here is a mix of Federation and interwar cottages, mid-century brick, and heavily renovated homes with modern rear additions. A lot of it is period housing with original timber detail: bargeboards, finials, verandah posts, and window joinery that no longer comes off a shelf. That detail is the reason the streets look the way they do, and it is also the first thing lost to a fast repaint. Thick paint fills a moulding permanently. We cut in by hand around that work and keep the coats controlled so the profile survives.
Matching a heritage palette
Period-appropriate colours are available from the major brands and they suit these houses far better than current fashion colours do. We will bring options and look at them on your actual walls, in your actual light, before anything is ordered.
Old and new on the same house
Where a modern extension meets an original cottage, the two sections take paint differently and move at different rates. We treat the junction as its own detail rather than running a single spec across both.
