Why do older Maitland interiors need different prep?
Many homes in central Maitland and Lorn were built before modern plasterboard. Their walls are lime plaster on timber lath, and that surface behaves nothing like gyprock. It can be powdery, it can sound hollow in patches, and it will reject a standard primer if you skip the stabilising step. So we test the plaster first, bind any chalky areas, and use a compatible primer before a topcoat goes near it. Get that order wrong and the paint lifts within a year.
High ceilings and getting to them safely
Victorian and Federation rooms in Maitland often run well above the modern 2.4m ceiling. That changes the access equipment, the time on site, and the price. We measure ceiling height at the quote so the number reflects the real job. Ceilings are quoted as their own line item, so you can see exactly what they add and decide whether to include them.
